Frequent questions
Where do the exchange rates come from?
From the European Central Bank and the National Bank of Poland, which publish reference rates free on their websites. The app shows the source and date next to every conversion. How the rates work.
Why doesn’t my total match my bank statement?
Your bank converts with its own rate and may add a fee. Reference rates are the middle of the market. To make them match, tap the rate line on the expense and enter the rate your bank used, or set your rate for the whole trip. If you exchanged cash, log it with “I changed money” and Roampurse uses your real cash rate.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Adding expenses, the converter, budgets, splitting, charts, receipts and exports all work offline. Rates are stored in the app; with a connection they refresh at most once a day. Only new rates, iCloud and App Store purchases need internet. If your rates are more than 7 days old, the date turns amber so you know.
How do I share a trip with my group?
Open the trip, go to the Group tab and tap “Invite to edit”. Send the invitation by Messages, WhatsApp or email. Each person needs Roampurse and iCloud on their iPhone; when they open the invitation they pick who they are on the trip. People without the app can stay on the trip as names. Only the person who shares needs Pro.
The person I invited can’t see the trip.
Check that both of you are signed in to iCloud with iCloud turned on for Roampurse, that they opened the invitation on the iPhone where Roampurse is installed, and that both phones have a connection for a moment. Changes made offline are uploaded when the phone is back online; the Group tab shows “Changes waiting to upload” until then.
How do I restore my purchases?
In Settings, under Legal, tap “Restore purchases” (it’s also at the bottom of the Pro screen). Use the same Apple Account you bought with. A travel pass is also kept in your iCloud, so it shows on your other devices.
I have a new iPhone. How do I get my trips back?
Sign in with the same Apple Account and keep iCloud on for Roampurse: your trips come back by themselves. You can see when the last copy was made in Settings › iCloud and backup. If you don’t use iCloud, save a full copy (.roampurse) on the old phone first, move it with AirDrop or Files and open it on the new one.
How do I export my expenses?
In the Expenses tab, tap ⋯ › Export. The spreadsheet (CSV) has one column per detail and opens in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets; it’s free, and so is the full copy with receipts. The PDF report with receipts and the reimbursement report are part of Pro.
Can I import from another app?
Yes. In the Expenses tab, tap ⋯ › Import and choose a CSV file. You say what’s in each column (date, amount, currency, category, note) and see the first rows before anything is saved. Rows with a problem are listed so you can skip or fix them. Imports always go into a new trip, so nothing you already have is touched. Importing another app’s CSV is part of Pro; bringing back your own .roampurse copy is free.
How do I cancel the yearly plan?
Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Roampurse › Cancel Subscription, at least 24 hours before it renews. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. The lifetime purchase and the travel pass don’t renew, so there’s nothing to cancel. Apple’s steps for every device.
What happens when Pro ends?
Nothing you added is locked. Your trips stay open and editable, receipts can still be viewed and shared, and CSV and full-copy exports stay free. A shared trip keeps syncing until 30 days after its end date, and you can always see balances and settle up.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a trip or expense and it goes to Recently Deleted, where it’s removed for good after 30 days. Deleting the app removes the data on that device; to remove the iCloud copy too, delete Roampurse’s data from your iCloud storage settings. I don’t hold any of your data.
What is a template link?
A way to share a budget without sharing a trip. It carries only the currency, the number of days, the amount per category and an optional title and country. Whoever opens it sees the budget and can start a trip from it. Example.
